THE COLLECTIONS
Villa Serra di Comago – Hydrangea
This is a permanent collection of Hydrangee created since 2004, conceived and designed by Studio Ghigino & Associati Architetti, landscape architects, in collaboration with the Vivaio Paoli Borgioli of Florence, specialized in hydrangeee.
It is the first public collection in Italy with almost 270 species, for a total of 2000 plants.
Villa Durazzo – Camellias
From Asia to Liguria to admire the flower that the Orientals consider immortal. The public can admire the ancient nineteenth-century camellias through guided tours in the evocative setting of the Italian Garden of the Villa.
Villa della Pergola – Wisteria
The park hosts important botanical collections such as the collection of 35 varieties of wisteria, the collection of agapanthus (unique in Europe for vastness and importance with more than 400 varieties) and the citrus collection.
La Cervara – Roses
A wonderful example of an Italian garden containing a botanical concentrate from all over the world: from the Agave americana to Strelitzia, from the Chinese palm to the bugainvillea, from camellias to pink pepper, from Aleppo pines to the monumental wisteria of the internal courtyard.
Villa Durazzo Pallavicini – Magnolia
Through a hard and long work of re-identification, we are re-emerging from the collection special cultivars both Ligurian and from other sources, Italian or foreign. Among the centuries-old plants are the “Virgin of Collebeato”, the “Nina Durazzo” a beautiful local camellia considered extinct until not many years ago, the “Albino Botti”, the “Bella di Firenze” and the “Incarnata”.
