In this way William Scott defined the Gardens of “Villa della Pergola” in his essay “The Riviera”. The Park, restored by architect Paolo Pejrone, covers an area of 22,000 square meters and the guided tour is about an hour and 30 minutes. It is famous for the richness of its Mediterranean-exotic evergreen flora. Pines maritime, carob trees, olive trees, almond trees, cypresses, holm oaks and a surprising collection of citrus trees wisely planted near eucalyptus, jacaranda, araucaria, giant ramshackle, diksonie, cacti palms, opuntas from all latitudes.
Seasonal blooms of tumberge, spirae, deciduous hydrangeas and Annabelle, oleanders, fragrant pelargoniums, bougainvillea, datura, bignonie, solanum, jasmine, surprise and excite the visitor through a path of perfumes and colors. The Gardens host some important collections such as wisteria, with more than 32 varieties and the collection of agapanthus, unique in Europe, in terms of number and variety with over 400 species. Services: Specialized guided tours, possibility to organize events, receptions, weddings and meetings, bar and restaurant “Nove” for all visitors, rooms.
Openings:
- WINTER groups and visits only by reservation;
- SUMMER from March to late October, Saturday and Sunday with guided tours by appointment. During the week, by reservation, for groups and school groups. During the blooms of wisteria and agapathus open every day by reservation.
